Real Estate Salesperson
A person employed, appointed or authorized by a real estate agent to trade in real estate.
Real Estate Restricted Salesperson
A person appointed or authorized by a restricted agent to trade in real estate on his or her behalf.

Examination Requirement

An individual applying for a Real Estate Salesperson's licence must write and successfully complete the Real Estate Salesperson's examination. There is no examination requirement for a Real Estate Restricted Salesperson's licence.

The registration fee for a salesperson's examination is $25.00. Examinations are written on scheduled dates at the following centers:

Surety Bond

A surety bond (PDF: 31 KB) issued under the Real Estate Trading Act in the amount of $5,000 is required.

Agency Endorsement

Application for licence must be authorized by a licenced Real Estate Agent or Restricted Agent.

Licence Fees

The licence fee for a Real Estate Salesperson's or Restricted Salesperson's licence is $100.00. Cheques are made payable to the Newfoundland Exchequer Account.

Licence Term

Licences issued under the Real Estate Trading Act remain in effect subject to the filing of annual reports and payment of an annual fee as prescribed by the Minister, until it is withdrawn by the registered person or is suspended or cancelled under the Act. The annual filing due date is the last day of the month twelve (12) months from the effective date of the original licence.
