OverviewCargo Securement Regulations are under the Highway Traffic Act and must be followed by all vehicles operating on public roadways in Newfoundland and Labrador. The regulations are broken down into three parts and two schedules. Part I — General Performance CriteriaThe following is a summary of the different sections under Part I of the Cargo Securement Regulations. These sections focus on performance criteria and cargo securement devices.
Part II — Securement by Cargo TypeThe following is a summary of the different sections under Part II of the Cargo Securement Regulations. They deal with the type of cargo being transported and how to secure it.
Part III — Inspection, Offence, PenaltiesThe third section under Cargo Securement Regulations deals with inspections of carriers, offences and penalties.
