Period of Exemption

Non-residents can operate a vehicle for a maximum period of 3 months in one year without registering the vehicle in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Resident Definition

Resident includes a person who lives in the province for a total of 90 days or longer in a year, is employed or engages in an activity for compensation in the province for a total of 30 days or longer in a year, is attending school or college in the province, or is in the province and whose children attend school or college in the province.
